besides below, there's a bunch of rotary rockets & rotary reviews on ebay today. Look pretty sweet but no 90/91 though
What's the difference on the TARGA & normal GSL-SE anyway?

No difference except the aluminum band on the roof. A "targa 7" or "mazda 7", was an RX7 equiped with a wing, front spoiler and fog lights, skirts(i think), rear bumper kit, and the targa band. The band said Targa 7 or Mazda on the sides. He might be trying to get extra cash by naming it a targa rx7.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!
Firstly, there is a diffence between a genuine Mazda Targa band, and the aftermarket 'Targa 7' band.

Secondly, as far as I know, there was no 'Targa RX-7'. The Targa band was a dealer installed option, either by itself, or as a part of the 'IMSA Appearence Package' with the 3 piece spoiler and airdam.
That said, NOTA V6 disagrees with me

If it's in good shape you should be able to sell it.
I got really lucky and managed to get a nice one for only $100 on e-bay, but they can sell for a lot more.

I paid $2000 for my -SE... Then again, that's only like $1300US.

The ONLY 1st gen limited model I know of is the 10th Anniversary Limited Edition (not to be confused with the 2nd gen 10th AE), which were fully optioned GS models with special paint and rims. They were made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Mazda Rotary.

There were three official "limited editions" (4 if you count the 2nd Gen Infini that was only offered in Japan and was about as limited edition as they get).
Rex's with "Limited Edition" badges were:
The first was a 1979 Lmt Ed. I owned one. Here is a URL of one that was recently offered on e-bay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...ndexURL=0&rd=1
The Second was the 1983 Limited edition. It was a sort of Champagne Green color with maroon interior and was distinctive by its BBS basket weave wheels (earlier version of Vert wheels).
The third was the 1988 2nd gen 10th Anniversary.
There was a LS model, but LS isn't a Limited Edition badge. Of course, what with the mods's we do to personalize our own Rex's, aren't they all Limited Editions?

What made it special?
The '80 LS Edition is the Leather Sport model. I believe it was Mazda's attempt at testing the waters for what would become the GSL model in '81 and later years. The LS had gold tinted/painted "waffle" wheels, leather seats, and some other interior goodies (upgraded stereo, remote mirrors). There is an "LS" badge on the B pillar, and it was availabe in 3 colors, Brilliant Black, Solar Gold, and Aurora White. The Anniversary Rx7 was available in a "Renaissance Red" color, pinstriped, and had a roman numeral X. Mazda sold 8000 Rx7's, 626s, and GLC's (Great Little Car) in the Anniversary line.
The '83 LE had Chateau Silver paint, red pinstriping, 5.5" wide 14" rims and several updated interior changes.
There weren't any special or limited edition Rx7's in '84 or '85. The GSL-SE was named SE for Special Edition, but refererred to the upgraded suspension, engine, and 14" rims, rather than a limited production run.
Its worth noting that the Matras book makes reference to a VERY limited run of 1990 GTUs Rx7s. The production run for 1990 GTUs is stated as only being 100. For a production Rx7, I believe that makes a 1990 GTUs the most limited edition vehicle of them all!

I know about the LS model, but it was a production model not a Limited model, as far as I know.
And what year is the red Anniversary model you mentioned? I've never heard of it?
