picked up an 85 GS (pic)

went to loveland ohio yesterday(4 hour drive) and picked up this ocean blue 85 GS. its a 5 spd and has 150K and has excellent paint but is wrecked. i'm initially going to use the car for the engine and put the engine in my tender blue 85 S. the car has a sad story to it. it was originally purchased by a woman who babied it. it was her pride and joy. one night she came home from work, ordered a pizza, said that she didnt feel good and laid down before the pizza came. she never woke up. she left behind this car and a very sad husband who wouldnt part with the car. he did finally in 02 and the people i bought the car from sold it to me(after asking the husband if he would like to buy the car back, to which he declined). i'm going to repair the damage and install another engine and bring the car back to life. its a very clean car! i'll keep you guys posted on the repair.

the interior is in great shape. i'll get pics of that up tonight or tomorrow night. just depends on when i have time to get to it. the car is in my workshop about 20 mins away from my house. as for parts, i'm not goint to part it. i'm going to pull the engine and use it in my 85 S. after that, i'm going to fix the front end and hopefully be able to drive the car. i already have all of the parts to fix the car. i've always wanted an ocean blue rx-7. i couldnt pass this one up!

thank you. like i said, someone loved this car very much and i cant see the car going to waste. i'm sure the woman would want the car to be fixed. and i've always wanted an L6 ocean blue car, so it works our very well. it kind of matches my V3 tender blue 85 S. they look good parked next to one another.

straightened the front fender tonight and put it back on and started working the front out. its pretty bad but it'll make it whether i straighten this one or weld a new one in from my parts car.

good luck man its always difficult to see where to start from when re building a wrecked car if you are a good welder then you should probably just weld another front on the car.

i may just have to resort to welding in a new core support and part of the right front unit body..
