A pic of my 82 S

Just thought I would post up a pic of the 82 S I just got a few weeks ago. So far all I've done to her is rebuild the carb, remove some of the emissions, and replace the fuel pump and filter. Also I put NGK 7's and 9's in her instead of the 8's, it runs much smoother now. The only mod is a Racing Beat header, which was there when I got it. I think I am the only one who appreciates the wheels. I hated them at first, but now they have grown on me and will stay. Any comments are appreciated.

The plan is pretty basic. New poly-bushings all around. Racing Beat springs. KYB GR-2's. maybe AGX's. I need to overhaul the whole steering, idler, pitman, tie-rods. Right now it is sloppy as hell. Also the susension stuff is necesary since the rear springs are about useless. Other than that, finish off the exhaust Racing Beat style, MSD 6a ignition, remove rats nest, H4 headlights, better rubber.

No pic. Just the little red X we all know and love.

edit: Never mind. The red x has turned into a red first gen. I love happy endings. Nice car. Very clean. Good luck with the upgrades.

Yeah. You're all over it. The pics are in like flint.

The more I look the more I like it. Your 1st gen is d@mn clean! One of the nicest I've seen in a while. You have any engine shots? I'm getting ready to post a massive update of my restoration tonight when i get home. UPS should be bringing my new digital camera so expect lots of pics.

The car is very clean. But here is the only real bad news worth dealing with.

Also I plan to put an e-fan on it very soon.

I'll get some interior pics as well as engine bay this afternoon.

My 7 had the same rust in the exact same place. Almost like a war flashback looking at that. I cut it out with my angle grinder, used some pop rivets to put in a new piece of steel and then slapped some bondo over the top. Sand it smooth and paint it. Looks almost perfect. You can't even tell there was a hole there. Stop that cancer before it takes your baby!!

Yeah, the car is sweeet. I think the wheels look good, and would probably be accented better with some hardcore tires, maybe even white letters. Just my opinion. Nice!!!

Definitely a nice car

Consider DLIDFIS instead of MSD 6a. The benefits of an MSD aren't that great, especially compared to the price.

I like the rims, but as ABCDEfb said, it could use something on the tires... like white writing or something... I have whitewalls on mine, which looks awesome with black rims, but I'm not sure if it'd suit yours.

I've got the RB Spring/KYB GR-2 combination and I like it

It has 175K on it and I am the 2nd owner. I paid $600 for it from a friend, who in turn got it from a friend of his as a favor for doing some work on his other car before he moved away. So that guy was the original owner, and my friend had it for about 2 days before I bought it. Does that make any sense? Anyway the car is pretty damn clean. The interior is mint other than the passenger door panel needs to be redone. The drivers' side is newly refinished, and the seats have fresh leather on them (only a few months old). I only need a new rearview mirror since it has just plain worn out, and the drivers' side sunvisor is off because the plastic swivel/mount is cracked and won't hold position anymore.

Yeah the tires are gonna go, they are dry-rotted anyway, the wheels will stay. The progress will be documented.

She tends to smoke a little if not warmed up before being driven. After sitting for a year, the oil control "o" rings are a little dried up. However I've been using motor honey, and it probably didn't help that I flooded the **** out of it after rebuilding the carb and not checking the floats . The oil looked like premix!!

Thanks for the compliments. This is my first FB and so far I love it. Much nimbler than the pig FC's I've owned, and a hell of alot cheaper to repair.
