Peripheral Port 12a

I have a few questions for any guys with experience running a peripheral port 12a.

First of all I will mostly likely be getting my hands ona a peripheral port 12A race motor from a guy who used to race them in RX2s many years ago. He has one sitting around that he may sell to me if he can't find me a bridgeport motor.
Also before I go any further, this will see some time on the street. Yes I know it will be a pain in the ***, I don't mind, its not like it'll be my DD.

Basically my real question is does anyone know any reasonable way to muffle it? What are the exhaust temps like in these motors, because he used to melt many of the race mufflers they attempted to run on their Rx2s but that was years ago.
Are there any decent mufflers that can hold up to the heat and reasonably muffler hte car?
I was thinking of either getting 2 T-304 steel race mufflers one for the middle of the exhaust and one at the very end. Also I was goign to probably run a custom header with 2.25 inch pipes that collect to a 4 inch pipe that runs straight to the back.
Race Muffler
I was thinking about running these mufflers.

Or Maybe 2 magnaflow performance diesel mufflers, I figured they may be capable of holding up to heat as well.

If anyone has some better ideas let me know.
And yes I am set on this peripheral port race motor. I cant argue with 300 naturally aspirated horsepower at 11-12k rpms

Reasonability is a matter opinion......
But,to put it plainly your not likely to get it down to streetable standards without choking some power from the engine.Thats not to say it wont be somewhat streetable, after all your not going to be hitting 12KRPM at every stopsign.....although that does sound like fun!

Id recommend as many 2.25"- 2.5" and/or 3"- 4" straight through mufflers as you can cram under the car.Stainless construction should be considered mandetory, especially with the packing material.

For track use, big yeah. but for street use, you have to choke it down using small pipes which means you aint getting the full benefit or getting its full potential. I gave up on my 13-B P-Port and I use the p-ported housings as a decoration in my garage and to make my visitors drool. I came to senses that it I should go with a standard bridge instead.

Also, I would use thick walled tubing. This will help out as well. I'd used Turbo II presile to ncers from RB. Using an RB Streetport muffler would probably be a big help. I'm going to use a Peripheral Port 12A for my drag FB. That'll be just straight down pipe though LOL

MM yeah I don't have senses. =)
I had thought about this for a long time, and I kept telling myself that peripheral port is impossible, and I just need to stick with a full bridge. But, I guess my more illogical side got the better of me, and I am pretty much dead set on doing this lol.
We have some pretty damn loud ricers here in arizona and they all seem to get away with it. My friend had ran a straight header on his 2nd gen when the header bolts loosened themselves. We even asked a cop if it was too loud at a gas station and he said it was fine.
That car was pretty much ridiculous, like louder than my 70 mustang with straight headers was before we put mufflers on it.
I figure with a full exhaust system taken from like a stock diesel truck for piping and race mufflers it cant be any or much worse than his car was lol.

Straight pipe peripheral port would hurt, don't forget your earplugs lol. =X

I had the neighbors complaining when I was warming up my 1/2 bp at the meet Sat night, at high idle. Good luck with the PP and get used to saying 'What', a lot in about 6 months.
