Cool PEDAL FEELS LOOSE, & I DONT LIKE IT

well my throttle pedal feels like its loose. when i put my foot down on the pedal it goes in very easy. it feels like i can flick the pedal with my finger and the motor will rev. could it be because the car is an '82 and the motor/carb are from an '85?! i mean it works fine but i just dont like how loose it feels. any ideas why its doing this and how can i fix it/ adjust it?!?

Interesting problem, does the pedal come back up by itself once you press it down, or do you have to pick it up with your foot? Or it comes back up slowly?

Your return spring is soft, try a second one, I run three, its a good safety measure anyway in case one comes off and you're stuck at WOT

If the spring is soft, not disconnected it will come back slowly, you need to find the throttle linkage and note the existing spring, then buy one from Advance etc. and add a second so it also pulls the throttle closed when you lift off, be sure it is the correct way, you don't want it holding open....lol

I added three to my Mikuni because two felt a little soft to me.

Hmm, I didn't think about adding another spring to mine. I hate how soft mine feels, but I just dealt with it anyway. I'll get another spring put on it now.

Dude, we'll find something next time we hit the yards. Im sure we might be able to find something there. Hell, even Lowes might have something, they got lots of random hardware goodies.
