nice to see some sweet projects coming out of canada, and alberta none theless (calgary by any chance???)
sweet ride you must be proud of your work |
Edmonton area. Theres a few awesome projects around here the owners just keep them low key and to themselves though.
As for being proud of it, I dunno I got the idea of this car in my head a few years ago and now it's all coming together. It's pretty cool in that aspect. |
That's the 1st time I've seen that kit. It does have Porsche like fenders. I have the same kit Dan does and it's mistaken for a Porsche more than anything else. Even by the State Trooper that stopped me, lol.

That's some strange coding you've got there.
|
I don't know what that is. It popped up when I quoted a post and now I can't get rid of it, even after deleting the quote and the coding several times.

trochoid's a hacker LOL!

Thats lookin pretty good dan, I'm not usually a fan of widebodies, but they seem to be growing on my lately. Can't wait to see it all together!

I had to tear the motor of the car back down again because of a leaking coolant seal. (found it before putting coolant into the engine thanks to pineapple racings cooling system pressure tester). Anyways got it all appart and found a pinched seal so now I wait for a new set of OEM water seals. Engine wiring is just about finished, have to find a FD harness someone is will to chop, need TPS and IAT connectors. Also I have found out about an awesome tuner who is within a few hours of me here so I plan on trailering it to his shop when spring comes around. The car should come together pretty quickily over the next few months I am not too far away. |
that is looking hot. cant wait intill its done.
|
God damn, that is sex on wheels. Almost looks like a mini batmobile. ;) But, seriously, that thing is bad ass. And, the motor isn't something to sneeze at either. Good job! :icon_tup:

Just finished reading entire post and threads. Great read and fantastic job on car. Only wish my son had your drive to start a project as difficult as this and follow through. Kudos to you!!!

That thing looks amazing.
I love the idea of the truck bed liner in the engine compartment. I am also curious to see how it stands up to the heat. Widebody is in the plans for my FB as well, but WAY down the road. |

hey where did u get the head lights
|
Oh man if only I got a dollar for each time I have been asked that, I'd be finished the car already! haha.
The Headlights were from CPracing.ca (closed now), honestly I wouldn't even recommend trying to find a used set. Very poor quality and honestly I think I could make something better and I don't have any fabrication experience. The kit I bought came with 3 of 4 of the lights cracked, the sealant around the plexicover coming off making it look terrible, horrible build quality. The kit even has exposed rivets, it is pretty easy to tell that they put minimal R&D into them. Long story short hopefully another company decides to make a flush mount kit that doesn't suck... (just my opinion) A bit of an update, had to pull the engine appart again, pressure tested the cooling system with pineapple racing's cooling system test kit. Found that the inner water seals on the front rotor were leaking. Tore the engine appart found 2 pinched seals. Hopefully I will get the engine back together within the next couple of days with new OEM water seals. |
I'm surprized you didn't go for pineapple racing's heavy duty water seals.
|
That was what I had in it originally, but they got pinched. I thought id give the square edged OEM's a shot, they stay in the grooves much better.
|
duh na annana na nana batman.
