parts car!!! yay!!! fitment q

so someone finally found a parts car for me in my area. it appears to be an '84 gs or gsl model, it has a metal sunroof and the rear wiper. body is in so-so condition, theres def. a lot of metal there that i could use. manual tranny too.

so my question: should a tranny out of this '84 (at most 85) fit into my 82? i'm looking at buying the whole damn thing if i can get it for around 200. its missing a carby, and its a safe bet the engines toast. glass looks good tho.

Trans should fit fine. Only 1st gens that had a different trans, were the 79-80 models. The biggest difference there, was the shifter location.
