Parking brake cable tensioner
Parking brake cable tensioner
So the parking brake tensioner on the fbs are just a spring? Mine snapped, are there other tensioner setups or am I able to get a replacement spring, I’m also looking for the hardware sounds like I have to get lucky.
When I replaced all my cables from the lever back I took the old rusty spring to ACE and found a (seemingly) identical one in the hardware isle. Same design, length and tension. Works fine, and as said above you might be able to find one at Mazda.
The spring just keeps the handle/cables in the "relaxed" position when your not using it. The adjustment is wherw the threaded end of the front cable goes through the lever. Tighten the nut and the brakes will apply sooner in the lever-pull.
