Parking brake cable removal? (disc brakes)

I've been trying and trying to get the parking brake cable removed from rear disc brakes on my FB but no luck. One side is broken cause the cable corroded but the other side i've managed to loosen but cant get it off.

Pull the plastic cover off of the e-brake handle, and then on the passenger side there is an adjustment screw/nut that you can loosen to get some extra slack in the cable. this should help you to get it off of the fork on the calliper.

Yeah, I got it off the fork but theres its still attached to the bracket on the caliper. It's a nut on each side kinda straddling itself in and I loosened it but it wont come off. The gap is too narrow for the cable to slip through.

From what I've seen of mine, and pictures of new ones, the braket that attaches to the caliper is part of the whole unit. I tried to take mine off also, and had to take the bracket loose from the caliper. Then I shot some rust blaster into the cable and worked it up into the cable to break it free, and then continued to soak it until the cable worked freely. You may be able to spread the gap enough to get the cable out, but the metal that the bracket is made out of is tuff stuf.

Maybe its set up different on some years, but when I was transferring over my rear axle with disc brakes from my old Seven, I just knocked out the small cotter pins that held some posts in to connect the rear brakes to the parking cable.

Or am I thinking of something else here?
