You can't revalve Illuminas. They won't blow out really either. The problem is that they do not offer enough damping when you have higher spring rates. The suspension will be underdamped to a point where you have issues in transitions and bumps. Most average drivers probably don't notice and just adapt to lessen the "problem". My co-driver got the Illuminas on my car dynoed and found that to be true by the numbers. The other interesting thing was that the settings from side to side (comparing left to right of both the front and rear) are not consistent. "1" on one side of the car my be closest to a "3" on the other side of the car. This is food for thought. Unless you have/had tested your own shocks there is no way to tell.

They are still a good shock for a budget minded person.

Tucson has some pretty rough and rutted roads in areas. so i am definitly going to be wanting a proper spring and shock setup. last thing i want to do is unload the suspension on a corner.
