"OsPho" and "Rust-Mort" are two brand names of phosphoric acid. I've used 'em both and both seem to work identically. I get it at the automotive paint store.
And Racing Bleat does not phosphate their exhaust systems, they are just painted black. Phosphating is similar to the "Parkerizing" finish used on military weapons. Maybe exhaust components could actually be Parkerized, I don't know. It would be real durable though, and would resist rust as it does on guns.
