brake caliper paint might work. Engine paint. Toy model paint. Spray paint...

Exterior paint is really what you want, tho. I'd reccomend caliper or engine piant. Folia tec caliper paint is what i'd use.

Dupli-Color High performance wheel coating, is what I used. It's not black but graphite, looks better than black IMO.

Plain old Kyocera Satin Black has worked for me for years and years and years and....

And Satin Black is soooo much nicer than the Graphite Gray - IMO - lol Of course, everybody's entitled to my opinion

It's important to personalize your ride. If everybody paints their wheels black and puts louvers on their car, well... I'd have no choice but to strip that stuff off mine and remove the louvers. If everybody else is heading north, I go south.

I've used SEM Satin trim black paint for the 626 Turbo wheels that I used to use on my SE about 8 years ago. Seems like black wheels are more of a trend now than back then. Just sand them down well and use a self-etching primer first.

Powdercoating is the best, most permanent and durable option, but if you must be a cheapskate (and I can respect that), I'd use some epoxy enamel and then bake the wheel in the oven to harden the paint.
Bake it for an hour at 300-350 degrees, then allow it to cool completely and repeat a couple more times. The heat-cycling will make the paint really hard.
And the self-etching primer idea is an excellent one. -WG

whatever you do, in my opinion, dont get a shiny glossy finish. i think flat or low-gloss looks better on a black wheel. and whoever said black wheels were rice is a poop-tard. black wheels were the de-facto standard color forever untill they came out with goofy chrome crap. if you ask me chrome is ricier than black any day. (not that i'm against rice, cause i love it!)

What black factory rims look like on a red car...

Well, I painted one of the myriad of sets of factory wheels I have black and put my BFG Comp T/A R-1 Tires on them for autox.
