Painting engine - regular or high heat?

So I'm fixing to tear the motor in my new racecar apart to replace a bearing/whatever else may be wrong with it, and I thought "Hey! Its gonna be all apart, why not paint it?!". I was ASSuming I would need high-heat, but then I thought about my friend's racecar with the gold engine, and thought maybe I could just use the regular stuff. The engine in my new car has some of the pieces from his motor, so the oil spout and some of the pulley's are gold, but the engine is still stock colored. I would paint the whole thing gold, since that adds like 50HP, but it would be like his old motor, and I don't want to do that. If I can use regular-old spray paint, there are tons of colors that will ad like 40HP+, but if I have to use high heat paint, I'd have to use red with only adds like 15-20HP. *

So, has anybody used regular old Krylon? Did it catch fire and burn your car to the ground? Has anybody used the high heat stuff? Does it look cool enough to be worth it?

I guess I should add that the car is currently cream/black, but will soon be blue/black or entirely blue. I'd like a red engine, since red is my favorite color. I'd paint it blue, but thats too much blue. Anybody have any suggestions on other colors?

* Yes, I know paint and stickers don't add horsepower.

Well, damn. I've only ever seen the high-heat stuff in red, orange, blue, and white (or some small collection like that). I may have to be on the lookout for the high-heat stuff, since I'd rather do that anyway after thinking about it. The last thing I want is to DNF because the Krylon on the engine caught fire...

The red, white, blue thing is a cool idea. I can't remember - how many pieces are there on the engine? Is it 5 or 6? I'm thinking 5, but without the engine sitting in front of me, I can't remember...
