Anywhere from $129.95 to $10,000.00. You decide how much you want to spend and there's a paint job to match. It's like everything in life though, you get what you pay for.

GavinJuice, If you live around the western suburbs of Minneapolis, you're close to where I got my $8000 paint job.

If you're willing to do the prep work yourself, a basic paintjob shouldn't be more than a thousand dollars. I'm going to be doing the bodywork on my car myself and then paint, probably flat black. I'm not shooting for good, just less bad.

It all depends on what your 'looks like ***' threshold is.

Mine's fairly low.

Yeah, it was overboard, but after 11 years, it still looks like new and much better than the factory ever did. It was done by a guy named Kerry Babbler.

Well th front bumpeis not in the best of shape. The whale tal is in great shape however. I'm missing onesde to the IMSA bumper. If anyone has ever seen one they'd know what I woudl mean. The sun has also gotten to it and wilted it. But hey for 50bones for a bumper and tailight. I couldn't refuse. I really ony need the doors, bumpers and sunrof (now ). Got all scratched up in storage. I'm going something more exotic I'm thinking. MOre like porsche or ferrari siler maybe.

$8000 is a reasonable price for a good paint job. You can definitely pay a lot more also.

I disagree with getting what you pay for-

$8,000 for PAINT? Sorry...you can argue that all you want, but an $8,000 paint job is not money well spent.

I think $800 is a lot for a paint job, but I guess that's the going rate. Definitely not more than $1,000.

Rather put $1,000 in paint, and $7,000 in other stuff.

The difference is obvious as soon as you walk up to the car. A car painted for $1k will be shiney.

A car painted for over $7k will be smooth, free of orange peel finish, absolutely glisten in sunlight, shine better every time you wax it, and look that way for a LOOONNNGGG time. It will also not only look this way on the outer surfaces, it will be that way in the engine bay, door jams and anywhere else you think to look.

If you've ever seen the show American Hotrod, you've seen them prep, prime, finish, and clear coat followed by ALOT of wetsanding and then polishing. All of this work and a high quality paint costs money. Anyone who tells you different is wrong.

It comes down to how nice do you want your car to look and how long do you expect to keep it.

...dude my honda has the ORIGINAL 92 paint job and I waxed it every other day for like 3 months and that thing has the finish of a show car lol. So dude you can possibly get a 800 dollar paint job and wax it like that? I mean for real man. I'm not trying to be mean but sin't that basicly the same thing

Not at all. An 800 dollar paint job is about half as good as stock paint. They don't put on as many layers, for one, and they usually use A)too little clearcoat B)too much clearcoat (my car has dried PUDDLES of the stuff from the cheap paint job the last owner got) or C) no clearcoat at all, just paint. On the plus side, your car will match colors again.

Price...

most of the price of good paint jobs is the labor involved. As stated above, a good paint job is going to have a LOT of time put into it, and will last for a long time. You can still have a "nice" and "respectable" paintjob for <$1000. However, in 5 years you'll be ready for another. I've chosen that route because I feel in 5 years, I'll be willing and able to spend more on a total paintjob
