...Paint Colors...

I'd like to take the time to make the whole paint issue more simple.

I'd really like to see a paint color chart of some kind. URL's, pics, whatever.

Mentioning the company would be most helpful as well. I want people to be able to find the color of paint they want without scouring the internet and ordering countless catalogs.

If there is no such thing, it would be extremly advantagous for some paint company to create a paint color chart.

-Thanks

Well, the problem with not ordering a catalog is that paint cant be reproduced well on a computer. Every monitor has color, brightness, contrast, etc set differently. Thus, no two monitors will show a color the same, so what you see may in fact not be what you get. Also, metallics, pearls, deep clears, etc wont show up well period. Your best bet is to just do the regular old catalog ordering or sample ordering so you can look at it in real life in various lighting, just like when you get paint sample swatches for rooms in your house.

There is a website that will allow you to find any paint color from any year for most vehicles, and tells you the name...but it doesn't give you difference for aftermarket finishes from different manufacturers.

I ran into the same issue, especially with boat paint for my sailboat...there isn't jack online. I finally concluded it is because they can't know how well a color will show up on your monitor. Given the array of graphics cards, monitors, and what not...any color they choose, could look totally different online.

They want you to see real paint chips...and that is expensive (not to mention requiring a catalog).

I would recommend that you go the a auto finish supplies shop and flip through their catalogs...they should have paint chips for most brands.

Good luck,
