well, actually not bad, i bolted on the carb and it ran right away, had to turn the idle speed screw up a little before it would run without me holding onto the throttle. Umm, it backfires through the 2nd rotor a lot, and other than that, seems to idle at 700-800 pretty smoothly. As this is the first time this motor has been run in a LONG time, (i've already done the ATF trick) i see nothing wrong with this. Once my exhaust comes, i can take it out and flog it. Right now its also running with no vac-advance, because i cant find a vacuum port on the dellorto.

otherwise, i think i flooded it, cause i was messing with covering one venturi and then seeing it shoot flames out the exhaust port, and then i mistakenly covered it all the way and the motor stopped, and wouldnt start again, so i'll go out later and see if she'll start, but if not, its not that big of a deal, cause i know it will run.

Yeah, that is one thing I fear about moving back to NJ when ever I get out of the military. Vehicle inspection. Its like they have a quota they have to fill when it comes to failed emissions.
