ordered sum seals.. but problem
ordered sum seals.. but problem
got sum new apex and corner seals from
hurley-engineering.ltd.uk .. and i specifically asked for 2mm seals for the 12a..
they friggen gave me 3mm..
i wonder why?
and the big question.. will it fit on my 12a?
is the 3mm a big difference? ie. is it better?
thanx guys

2mm stock, 3mm are typically done for rebuilds, because the 2mm after so many miles can wobble in the slot, so the slot is milled out to 3mm. 3mm typically provides a better seal for turbo applications, but 2mm is more than satisfactory for N/A.

All 86+ engines have 2mm seals. You can put 3mm seals in these engines by milling the rotors. This is often done on turbo engines for extra protection against detonation or when the apex seal slot in the rotor is worn beyond spec.

Why'd you spend $2,000 for Apex Seals? You could've gotten two rebuild kits for that.
