Is the paint peeling on the hood or is it just the pic? Considering I'd start it (this is just me for what ever that's worth) ~2k *IF* it's in great mechanical condition.

Paint job is poor quality, nothing removed or masked properly, just painted over. I'd say 1000-1200 if the mechanicals are good, 1500 if there is no rust and the interior is in very good condition. I like the charcoal much better than the silver.

its just the pic, its dirty. i havent washed it for a long time, been hibernating in garage. runs great, not as fun as my old SE with header and exhaust...

i also agree, the paint job isnt the best quality (i wanted to remove the rear mud guards, but its freaking charcoal underneath, lol) and i also would of much rather had the charcoal w/ burgandy interior color combonation, but thats how i got it.

The spoiler looks like one of the aftermarket spoilers you could of bought through mazda when the car was originally purchased, kind of like mazdaspeed for the time. it actually reduced the drag coeffiecient from .33 to .32. But yours has the brake light in the middle, which I do not believe was on their version so I wouldn't say anymore than $150-$300 used.

is that the charcoal color where the rear license plate used to be? wow, I wouldve thought they would have at least gotten that. I would say you could get 1250 it. It is starting to get up there in miles and could probablly use some work.

That's a pretty decent SE, you can start at $2K easy if all the mechanicals are working nicely. These cars are getting more rare every single day, even in CA!!

It the Mazda 'Finish Line' factory 3-piece rear spoiler. Someone grafted in the center lamp.

I just got one that looks pretty close to that for free. Except the paint is worse seats are torn and it didnt run properly missing the ac compressor and the heater core isnt plumbed.

thanks for all the input. for those who are wondering it just passed PA insp and emmissions yesterday. the engine is strong, best compression i have every witnessed, 100psi on all 3 faces on both rotors on a cold engine with a jump box hooked to a dead battery. i almost didnt believe it. didnt even run when i bought it, but after seeing the compression in the motor, i just paid the guy and towed it home. only thing i am upset about is the vents dont change to defrost/floor.

and for those who cant stand that paint job, i know. all in good time my friends, i just got the car back on the road.
