Does anybody know anything about the Atkins Rotary 12A weber intake kit? It's $750 compared to Racing Beats $880 or so. I'll probably just end up with a Sterling, but if I get the money for hardcore performance then I may just go with something else. I say the best carb is the one that worx.

Yeah but all that will be worked out by the time I get the carb, hopefully next week. Plenty of time to be ready to swap a carb

I hope that soon I can add my 2 cents in here, but right now I'm running a Weber 45 DCOE with what came in it off the shelf...believe me, it's a miracle I got it running as well as it does. So far, I can honestly say that it does not run as well as it did with my stock Nikki.

However, I've got an order of jets coming soon that should improve the situation a bit. There are a few other things I'll need to address, but for the most part I am optimistic about the tentative results. I've been able to play with the settings on it a little, and I have to say that I'm very happy with this carb.

What I am interested in now is these mods I've been reading about in this thread. Enlarging the bowl, drilling holes...sounds like fun stuff! I'd really like to hear what people have done in these departments to further improve their Weber setups. Honestly, I'm the kind of guy that loves to experiment on my car (I made a header heat shield out of an old computer case), so I'd really like to know specifics on these mods. Unless, of course, they are so super-secret that they cannot be shared...but hey, we're all friends here, right?

I appreciate your celebration of our hard work, but there's really no need to be this way to Mel.
Perhaps you are not privy to the fact that we are just playing around when we pit our creations against each other's. There's no need for malice. If someone started questioning me in an effort to put me on the spot, I t hink I would become irritated, too.

The whole spelling thing, well that's a seperate issue. I find it extremely pretty, pretencious,(uhmmm, did I spell that correctly? - Don't wanna look stupid, 'n all...) and very unconstructive.

So please, with all due respect, at least regarding the spelling, stuff it in your ****.
GOOD ONE STERLING!!!!!

Lemmie guess. Idles OK, you try to pull away and it just bogs down, dip the clutch, dial in 3000 and then it pulls fine up to the red line? (wild guesses here).

I have a Holley/racingbeat setup and i like it (mainly cause it came tuned) but also cause it offers good low and high end perfomance and is great for street use cause it has good coldstart capabilities.

since you're running a bridgeport, the carb you bought from racingbeat was only tuned to run well.. stockport or their own mild streetport. if you want to maximize the power out of the bridgeport, ya gotta retune the carb. i'll bet there's more power to be had
