Question OMP removel.????

Hey im getting ready to take off my OMP, does oil come out when you take it off. I havent had a chance to look at it. And should i seal the holes that the OMP tubes go into after I remove them.

Now i have another prob. How do you get the little shaft(whatever it is) out after you take the OMP off. It slips out almost all the way then stops.

You're in the same boat I am. I started another thread about this, but for some reason no one has answered my question. Rx7Carl told me that it would be okay just to block off the shaft, but there is a chance that it would eventually wear through the blockoff plate. I'm guessing that if you want to remove the shaft you have to take the front cover off of the engine? I would like to know how most people are blocking off their OMPs. I would assume that most people are just blocking this thing off and leaving it in there, but I'm not sure. No one has ever mentioned it in any of the almost endless OMP threads on this forum. Not that I've seen anywhere... If someone knows how to remove this, or if it needs to be removed please RESPOND!!!

You don't need to remove the shaft. It's not going to wear through anything. Just get some rubber caps for the nipples on the carb.
