hey trochoid i have a question, im turboing my 12a and i had an idea about taking out that shaft that the op was talking about and using that hole as the oil return...would that work?

No, that spot tends to be too high for a turbo oil return. There is a depression just below the MOP that's a good choice. Keep in mind that the MOP is feed by pressurized oil that runs through a galley in the iron to the front cover.
Oil return should be as low as possible, but above the oil level in the pan. By the time the oil passes through the turbo it's basically up to gravity to carry it away.
