OMP Question...?

I just dropped a 13B n/a into my 85gs running a YAW Nikki Carb.

I have a S4 OMP which has four lines Y'ed into two since the Nikki only has two ports for the oil to go. With the air filter assembly off I can easily see where the oil would enter into the carb and nothing is dripping out..???

I have been told the OMP pushes oil, BUT why on a S4 are there ports for vaccuum to attach to the fittings where the oil lines meet the block and intake...???

Any input anyone..???

Why not use the OMP from the 12a? It is already set up for the Nikki, and all the lines, linkage and such should be very easy to adapt, since the 13b is barely longer than a 12a.

The front cover is off a SE. The 12A pump doesn't fit. I guess I could goto the parts section to get a SE omp... But I still would not know whether it pumps oil or gets sucked by vaccuum...? And I'd still be in the same position b/c the SE uses those little vaccuum lines tooo...???

The oil doesnt really drip, more like it clings to the side of the venturi as it exits the brass tube. Then it runs to the bottom of the venturi and hits the fuel spray as it exits the center of the venturi, mixing together.

Its probably gonna take a while to purge all the air out of the OMP lines.Im sure its drained down after the years that the engine sat in my shed. You can prop the OMP lever up to the full position and itll speed up the process while idling.Might be a good idea to put a little 2 cycle oil in the tank for now while the system purges, just in case.

BTW,the vacuum ports on the EFI oil injectors are to prevent drainback of the oil back into the OMP.When the engine shuts off, they close the oil injection holes and keeps the oil up in the lines, like putting your finger over the end of a straw thats dipped in water. The OMP does pump the oil under pressure,it goes in little spurts, the speed of the cycle is determined by throttle position.Youll see it happening once the lines start purging. For now Id put some premix in the tank until you get it all sorted out.

The OMP pumps(pushes oil into the motor trhu the lines) Thats why is called ....oil metering PUMP! the vac lines are just a safety useless feature<IMO (in a N/A car)
U can just run the othe 2 lines to the air filter in the carb and Use a vacumm spider or T if U want to hook up the vac lines
