OMP Lines

In the past, I have made my own OMP lines, ordered teflon tubing online with other parts and clamps. But on my 12A, when I got it, the previous owner had just stuck 2 rubber hoses onto the OMP nipples and ran them to the carb. He used no clamps to hold them on but they seemed to work, with a small amount of seepage. Anyway, would there be anything wrong with just using small diameter rubber vacuum hose for oil? Looks like what he had on there, but I figured oil and high heat over time would eat it away. I dont feel like buying the parts and spending the time on this project, plus vacuum hose is cheaper and easier to find. Any input?

Would plastic tubing for aquariums work? I think that is what was basically on my old OMP, just hardened plastic tubing. Plus, you can see the oil going into the carb and check for leaks.

Yeah that is one plus about clear plastic tubing. I may fabricate some nice lines down the road, but really I just need something to work for now so I can get it running. Aquarium plumbing might work, but Im not sure what oil would do to it. Its worth a try though I guess. Worst that could happen would be it springs a leak. But like I said, it would only have to last a few weeks until i fab some nicer ones. Thanks for the good idea
