omp failure

Just curious, if your omp quits working, how long will your engine last? This is assuming you don't premix.
I have heard you will see water temperature climb, how high on the guage will it go?
Yes, I tried the search before asking.

The OMP's rarely fail, they just develop an oil leak. Unhook you lines at the carb and see how much oil it is pumping. There is a test you can run on it in the Haynes manual. Some have told me that at about 3k-4k rpm you should get about a drop of oil about every 10 seconds. But the Haynes gives you a closer measurment.

i think one member had his engine seize after 10k or so.

the seals and surfaces produced huge piles of dust from lack of lubrication and the motor stopped turning.

I have a 13b motor, and I can't figure out how to unhook the lines without removing the intake. I have not used much oil this summer, but engine temp seems ok. It reads just below half the scale when outside temps are above 90F.
I think it is fine, I am just a worrywart.
Another member said in a past post (I can't find it.) said his engine temp went up, but he did not say how much.
