Okay, it's getting that time

I'm about to purchase a Fender from a fellow forum member, and as soon as I get it in, I've decided to paint my car (the mechanical stuff I can do myself, for cheap, but the paint I want professionally done)

I'm looking at probably $1200 for the RX 7 (300 ZX doesn't need paint)

Problem is, I've been set on Silver (very light in shade) since I got my car, but, now I'm seeing a lot of Silver/Grey/White first gens around the forums and whatnot. So, here's the question.

WHAT COLOR?!

I do NOT want a dark color. So that cuts off any dark blues/greys/blacks/greens.

I don't want it to have a rice color, such as Neon Green or Purple/Pink/something like that.

I'm thinking either Red, Silver (Still), An extremely light orange (almost yellow, but not cheese colored), 2004 Mustang Orange, Grabber (Azure) blue, or powder blue (really really light blue)

I like them all, and just am wondering on input from you guys.

Talking

Well my favorite color is black everything just comes together with a nice black paint (tints, smoked rear light, clear signals) job but that's been ruled out so.........

Mazda original factory red like my 84 is ok, not too thrilled. I tend to like darker colors like a crimson red, a dark color red, blood red :-) I think I will paint my car a darker red but hey its not about my car lets move on.........

Silver is the only light color I like and my second favorite color. Silver, man thats a classy color, especially with a little flake sparkling at you. I used to own a silver Rx-7. Also it hides dirt well, not like black.

Take a look at the picture I attached, that silver is just something to behold.

Ignoring the kit, that's the kind of thing I'm looking at. It would go great with a red interior, methinks.

that silver widebody is ******* sex!

however, i suggest the azure, cause its a badass color, and I plan on painting my 79 project a bright burnt orange w/ maroon metallic (someone on this forum did it, and it looked ******* stunning, and i am going to copy it )

personally, i think rx7's look better in darker colors, hence the burnt orange w/ maroon... cause they're a darker hue *shrug*.

chosing paint colors is hard as hell.

Silver / light grey shows the body shape and lines best; so very classy in my opinion. Although mine is red and I love it dearly, I would prefer silver if I had a choice.

Metalic forest green, tinted windows, and dark wheels. That was always my dream combo for my '71 Z.

I really was going to spraypaint my car flat black from it's current silver but now you got me rethinking! damn, I may just need to get it repainted silver after all.

I second the gunmetal or platinum type silver. The brownish gives it some charactor and depth......Just get a good shooter, metalflake is easy to blotch when spraying and colorsanding.

Now I'm really liking Azure or Orange. Seems that's the least popular, and, therefore, the least likely that someone ELSE will have them

Hmm, the best I can tell you is go to www.ford.com and check out the 2004 Mustangs for the Azure blue and the Orange.

Silver is, well, silver. The back of the Haynes book has a prime example of it.

Light blue, go to www.honda.com and check out the s2000 light blue.

Red is red. The classic sports car red.

The yellowish, another member of the forum has it. It's an Audi color.

I'll try to dig up pics
