Okay, I give up... WTF is an APL Solonoid Valve?

Hey Guys,

So I'm starting to map the wiring harnesses in my engine bay (as per the other thread) and in section B of the wiring diagram I come across something called the APL Solenoid Valve.

This isn't listed in the index of the parts fiche, and the wiring diagrams are totally unhelpful. It's item B23 and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is, where it's found, or what it eats in the winter.

Jon

The wire from the APL goes to the U terminal on the ECU, which is listed as the port air solenoid valve. (85 FSM)

a steady mixture of oat grains and chilled BBQ sauce can be used to feed the sometimes elusive APL Solenoid Valves in the cold winter months.
