The '79 carb isn't superior to the later model years but the manifold does flow better. You'll just have to find a way to block off an EGR port on the motor that isn't covered by the earlier manifold. I think the best way to do it is to get a machine shop with an aluminum welder to weld a peice of angle aluminum on the bottom to cover the port.

im hoping its a weekend swap nice and easey

this way i could replace that throw out bearing and stop the wine
and a fb tranny bolts up no problems is there any quick and easey things i should replace besides the tob i cant offard any of the good stuff yet like new clutch pressure plate and fly wheel just lookin at the simple stuff thats necceray

 

take out rad if you pull motor and tranny together. I think pulling both at same time is easier and also easier to work on tranny with it out (TO bearing).
