I did my 82 using the Haynes/Chilton & Factory Service Manual. There are exploded views that show all of the parts. It's not very hard to do.

When I took mine apart, I bought a couple of plastic boxes with a bunch of compartments in them and numbered all of the removed parts to match the exploded diagram in one of the books.

Just replaced everything that had a match in the rebuild kit.

Three tips.
1. Don't turn the thing upside down until you locate the weights from the accelerator pump. Look like BB's with brass plugs on top

2. Don't run a wire or anything else through the jets to clean them. Use a dip or carb cleaner.

3. Don't reconnect any vacuum lines that you disconnected. Replace them. (I used silicone) The rubber in the old lines is hard & probably won't reseal. The vacuum leaks will drive you crazy when you put it back together.

get a 5 gallon bucket. pour in a gallon of carb cleaner and the rest with gas and let everything metal soak once you get it apart. use compressed air to blow out the holes just don't lose the *****.
