If the motor has not been swapped then it is a 12a. It is stamped on the housing on the driverside.

There is no b12a.

2. The 1.3L 13B was not available in 1983 RX7's
3. The 12A is 1146cc, which makes it a 1.1L.

click the triangles
then '1971-85'
and in the drop-down menu, go to "exhaust components"
it will tell you what you want. Racing Beat's the best.

And taking the widebody with me is a great conversation starter. Also earns it's fair share of respect when it braps into the parking lot.
i would love to see the look on the guy at the desk at autozone when u pulled up with that car. it would be funny i dont know why but. then order a header from a bigblock and take it back and say it didnt fit on my 1.3 lol
Usually, you can have 1/2 hour of fun with autozone flunkies by asking for a timing belt or chain for an rx7/8.
Let me restate my initial statement, MOST Autozone FLUNKIES don't know anything about cars, they are at the mercy of what the computer asks. I have found a few people at Autozone that have a great amount of knowledge, but they are few and far between.

Yea I go to one Autozone and one Autozone only because there is a guy there who really appreciates my car and when I come in always talks with me about it for a whie. Nice guy who really wants to help and tries to make sure they have the right stuff.

Ok ok I take it back
autozone is good for some things, I've been there a few times myself. My friends had quite a bit of fun prank calling a autozone once, they asked for pistons and rings for a rx7, somehow the clown working the computer was able to find some kind of listing and said they had to be special ordered from california or something, how dumb.
Rogue_Wulff its funny that you mentioned it too, guess its not an original though on my friends part eh?

25 years ago (telling my age now) the "in" thing was prank calling parts stores, and asking for VW bettle radiator/water pump/ thermostat, or the same for a chevy corvair.
Using the RX8 is great, cause they all know it's a currently available model, and are totally baffled when they can't find a timing belt/chain listed for it.
I was in an O'reilly's store a while back, and the counter crew was prank calling autozone. I told them to ask for the RX8 timing belt. Got the "Deer in the headlights" look. The manager laughed, and told them "It's got one of them Wankels, no valvetrain". I just looked at him and and said, I shoulda pulled it on them, huh?........... They made the call.
