Angry oilly spark plugs

does anyone else think that it is a really bad sign when my sparkplugs are pretty oily. car just wouldn't start last night, pulled my plugs and cranked it and oil sprayed spightly from my spark plug ports. Is this a sign of a blown seal. any help would be great. i'm hoping it's not my third engine in three years

It could be a sign of a blown oil seal OR it could be a sign that your OMP (Oil Metering Pump) is stuck wide open.

oil sprayed from you spark plug holes? Da don't sound good.

First thing to check would be to disconnct the OMP lines from the carb, making sure make some provisions to catcht he oil that will presumable squirt out. Then pre-mix some gas with 2-cycle oil and throw it in the tank. Try the car. If it works, like the man said, your OMP is shooting too much oil.

That being said, I've never heard of a stuck OMP.

OTOH, you could try the ATF trick. One of your seals could merely be stuck, not blown. Check www.mazspeed.com for details. (Go to the facts section)

Good luck with the car.

atf trick is for unsticking apex seals. his problem would be side seals is seaing is the problem. i'd try the omp route but more then likely your side seals are leaking. on an up note, time to go street port.
