is your 6 port engine a beehive motor?

Nope. It was apparently built in 81 and had a short oil pedestal from that year. Still had the N255 rotating assembly, which we would call an 83-85 assembly. I think the rotors even have the N, but they're covered in carbon so I can't tell. Motor was carbon locked when I got it. I'll have to look in the stock 6 port carb to see what jets it has.

I'd say beehive = big oil pump. Every beehive engine I tore down had a big oil pump.

bumpstart said they came out in 81 so I'm going with what he said. Makes sense as Mazda would have done a carbed 6 port for their home market before a fuel injected one to the US and abroad.

And there I go using short hand again. I should have said "before a fuel injected 13B 6 port or some semblance of, came to the US and abroad". I've been doing that (using short hand) a lot lately.
