I have two R5 13Bs. On one I drilled and tapped the banjo bolt. On the other, I drilled and tapped the cast iron itself. That was interesting. I'd only recommend the latter if the engine is apart due to the amount of iron shavings that result.
If I ever rebuilt the other one with the banjo bolt, I think I'd drill and tap the rear plate on it as well. The banjo bolt is not as convenient to deal with when it has a hole/oil line in it.
I also have a Racing Beat oil pressure and temperature adaptor. It fits between the oil filter pedestal and rear plate. I haven't needed to use it yet. If you get one, you'll need to get the version with two 6mm x 1.0 studs because you've got the short style oil filter pedestal on your engine.
By the way, if you can copy and paste, you could copy a space character and paste it between every word. A little more involved than using -, but it'll be easier to read.

Good idea Jeff about the spaces. Actually, use a document editor to save about 400 spaces in a row, then paste them in and use the right-arrow key instead of space bar as you type.

On an R5 engine, you've gotta put a little effort in to get an oil pressure guage sender/fitting in the stock location (under the oil filter). I kinda like the aftermarket mechanical guages. They act like a tach for the oil pump.
My Cosmo still has a stock oil light. It still works, so I won't mess with it.

well my car has no dash so needless to say there was no light either. I finally decided to drill a hole into the pedistal that the oil filter sits on and it worked great. its really easy to get to, Its also really easy to take off and drill out the hole and tap it and then clean it up before reinstalling and all that happy horse pucky. I have an after market cooler with aluminum fittings so the banjo fitting thing was out of the question. We (my fiance and I) are taking the car auto crossing for its first time this weekend to get our asses kicked in F prepared. the car just flat gets it in a straight line but its a little squirley with the stock suspension having so little weight on it anymore. the rear sway bar is missing too. I dunno how thats gonna handle. And shoot I think that the suspension is pretty much just shot any how. thanks again for all the advice guys. be it solicited or not
