Oil Pressure Sending Unit location

Hi all;

I'm transplanting an 80 12A into a 73 RX-2 and I can't find where the oil pressure sending unit is supposed to screw in at on the motor. It's supposed to go beneath the oil filter, but the boss isn't drilled or tapped. Any one have an idea where it might be hiding on this year of motor?

thanks in advance
Dave

There isn't one....I used the Mazdatrix adaptor plate that sandwiches between the oil filter and the stand. It has all the ports you need. It's never a good idea to tap and thread into passages of an engine that isn't being rebuilt, especially into the oil passages. You're just asking for Murphy to pay a visit...

thanks for the answer mar3. I definately wasn't gonna attempt drilling and tapping, and I was planning on getting that plate eventually. I guess for now I'll live without the idiot light.

thanks much!
