oil pressure question

ok, i did some searches and i couldnt find anything that would tell me what my problem is. the oil pressure is a little over 60 on acceleration and a little under durring crusing and its inbetween the 2 thick orange lines on idle, i dont know exactly what that is, but i dont think its good. i dont know if i have a bad sending unit, or what, but some one tell me what my problem is please.

thanks,
kyle

my oil pressure drops down to about 20-25 at idle, and is around 70 under load and cruized at 60 give or take a few

I hasve to go look at my gauge to see where you are saying it drops to at idle, but generally speaking it sounds okay. It's common to drop pretty low at idle. You're oil pump is not turning very fast at idle thus low pressure. I'm at about 70psi under load 60psi on the highway and 40psi at idle if that helps.

how do you know what the pressure is if there are only a couple numbers on that guage. i dont know what the other lines are, i mean how can you say your running at 40 when theres like 3 lines on the damn thing. or should i get a better oil pressure guage

I would say that it sounds fine to me. I know without a lot of numbers it is hard to tell exactly what it is but mine acts the same way. Just above the 60 mark on acceleration, just below at crusing and just below the first mark ( I would assume is 30) at an idle.

exact pressure

I know exactly what mine is because I have an aftermarket pressure gauge on it lol, when the car is warm it stays steady at 24 psi at idle (800 rpm), cruizing under 3k rpm its at 40 psi give or take a few, over 3k cruizing its at 60 psi, and wide open under load its between 70 and 80
