oil pressure guage/sender question

I just bought a universal oil pressure sender and mounted it via sandwich plate and now my oil pressure reads 60 at idle, 110 under heavy throttle and somewhere inbetween while cruising. a fellow first gen guy on facebook said something about maybe a bad ground so tomorrow im gonna try a different ground location and clean the connector that i plugged into that goes to the gauge. any other possibilities? Btw i searched but didnt find anything similar.

if ur using the stock gauge, sounds like u don't have the right sender for the gauge. senders have different ohm values. get the sender for ur specific yr, not universal. i found this out many yrs ago when i put an 83 engine in a 75 808. the 83 sender pegged the stock gauge. swapped in sender from the 4 banger that came out of the 808, gauge worked fine.
