Question Oil leaking, pretty bad....

Hey guys, I have an oil leak. Its up around the front set of plugs, and gets my block heater all full of oil, and apparently undercoats the floor of my car as I drive, with oil..... is this a quick fix? Or a full rebuild. Oil seems to gather up where it says 12a.....

Ooooh, sounds like a dowel pin leak. Nothing to do but rebuild, really.

I agree with the other guys: look and see where the oil is coming from. If it's coming from the top of block, around the "12a" symbol on the front rotor housing, yeah, it's probably a dowel pin leak.

Those are messy, but as long as it's not a lot of oil coming out, you can drive around with one indefinately.

Edit: But watch your radiator hoses! Oil ruins them!

I kinda figured it would require a rebuild, yeah, its comming from the top of the engine. That doesn't really cause any damage to anything right, just messy? I would like to put a 13b in anyhow... that can't happen anytime soon unfortunatly. Just have to live with it. Has anyone had a good experience with any of that stuff you put in your engine to stop it from leaking, or is that just a gimick?

How exactly does a dowel pin leak?

When I opened my 13b block those look like just plain metal rods....what makes them leak?

I have a small laek there also. I wouldn't use any stop leak as htese motors use the oil different than ordinary cars. They burn it. May clog something but I'm not 100% on it,only say 99%
