This a tech question and goes in the tech section, not the non-tech section. Boy are you guys confused. :-)

Your oil leak sounds like the dowel pin leak which is common. Best bet is to get some Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer and put it in your oil. Member Onlyonthur has reported very good results with the product.

Determine if it's leaking from the top of the engine, dowel pin, or the side of the engine, front cover gasket.

Leaking by the spark plugs; do you mean at the front of the motor, or at the back of the motor?

It only looks like it's coming from there...the origin is a little higher and its creeping via capillary action along the housing joints....dowel pin leak is def what it sounds like.

Doc, was it you or someone you knew that had that crazy spray that stopped a similar leak from the outside? That was a real crazy thread.

Front of the engine where? Where the front housing meets the front iron? Between the front iron and the front rotor housing?
Need an exact location.

That is a dowel pin leak. Try the lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer. You can find it at Napa's and other parts houses.

Where you have the red circle are coolant ways, oil passage is on the top of the engine. Definitely dowel pin.

To understand what the dowel pin leak is do a search with the terms dowel pin leak. We have many threads on the subject.

Serious, no, not usually, but it does get messy. If the leak gets too bad, it requires an engine tear down to repair it.

Doc!! Who was it that had the spray that "cured" the problem? Did it stay cured after all this time? Do I have to bring back a thread from the dead??
