Oil leak finding additive?
This goes with my "can't find the leak" post but I seem to have better luck posting each question seprately here.
I seem to remember an additive you could add to your oil that would help locate the source of an oil leak. I'm thinking it used a black light too, but that may be something I'm remembering from a youthfull experiment in halucinations.
Anyone know if I'm high or is there a product like this? Where can I get it from if it's not THC induced?

Finding a oil leak on rotary is not a hard to do. Steam clean the engine, make sure to cover the distributor and air cleaner.
Once dry, I spray foot powder on the suspected area of the leak. Then start the engine, drive the car a few miles.
Pull it up on some ramps, pull off the undershield if you have not already. I use a good drop light, the fresh motor oil on the foot power is fairly easy to spot.
I would be concerned of any die or additive with a rotary engine cause of the fact that the engine will inject it for lubing the seals.

don't use any additives that "claim" to stop oil leaks also. They just swell up your seals and gaskets and make your oil thicker than ****. Most of your seals will be shot after you use it. in the long run it will do more worse than good. Also you can use baby power if you like to find the leak.

Yes there is an additive that you put in and use a black light to locate where the leak is coming from. You still have to clean the engine, so that when it comes out you get a precise area, and you dont just get one giant glowing side of the engine though, lol.
I have never used it, and Ive never personally known anybody that has, but Ive just heard from people about it online and stuff.
