You should clean the engine with some degreaser and then find out where the actual leak is first.

If you provide more details that pertain to where the leak is coming from(which degreasing would make a lot easier to find), then maybe you can get an answer that you would find to be more helpful.

Otherwise, yes, replacing the oil plan gasket will stop the leak, IF the leak is from the oil pan.

an oil leak is great to have in the winter where they salt the roads!

Keeps all the exposed metal rust free, and the exhaust nuts never rust up.

Maybe it is your oil meterring pump lines? In that case , you need to fix 'em fast.

Somtimes I worry about these members working on their own cars.

I had this problem once..

I saw oil dripping from the oilpan gasket, so I went to the parts store and ordered another. Turns out they gave me a cork gasket (which should always be avoided) Removing the oilpan bolts, 3 of them broke off in the rotor housings, so the new gasket helped very little. RTV would have sealed much better even with the 3 missing bolts. I still have yet to drill them out.

Moral of the story: Seal it with RTV (if it is infact the oil pan leaking)

Or if thats too much work, 20w50 slows leaking quite a bit

I have some kind of oil leak which looks like it could be my oil pan. But it could also be coming from up higher somewhere. I sprayed it off with sharp stream of water which is all I have. I only see two possibilities from the area I see leaking. Either the OMP above the oil pan, or the oil pan itself. Trying to decide if I do this work myself or just pay someone. This is my least favorite kind of work.

Easy enough man. simply rub the two hoses with your hand at their base, their base being where they mate to the omp. if you have oil on a finger, carefully inspect them. if you see deterioration, then yes, get you some stuff, and re do the ends, no more oil leak. if not, then you may have to get dirty Mine were so old, and sat for so long, one of them had rotted in half. I fixed them as soon as I found out. Why carefully? do you know how brutally brittle plastic gets after 20 years? lol SNAP! : yes I broke one of my plastic feed hoses from the omp,,

i already ordered the stuff for my 13b.

one oval oring, 4 small copper gasket, and 1 5-hole copper gasket. Since it was covered in oil, it HAS to be leaking somewhere there.. I'll prob remove it tomorrow and then wait for my parts.
