Oil Leak 83 RX7

Hey, I was wondering if someone more knowledgeable about the RX could help me with this small oil leak problem.. I can post pictures if necessary.

The leak APPEARS to be around the middle of the car (passenger side) and is leaking right onto the exhaust, there is a big black spot on the exhaust from where it has been leaking. the puzzling thing is thats its around the middle of the car, doesn't leak when it's not running and the oil level doesn't seem to be suffering much ( I've driven one full gas tank on last change and no difference in oil level) another thing that may be some useful information is that I did have the clutch replaced not to long ago, could it be transmission oil?.. Not sure.

Thanks a lot.

Sounds like a tranny seal, smell the oil, its pretty easy to find the difference between gear lube, and motor oil.

Alright, its really hard to tell what the hell is up there without having a hoist but u get the general idea of where its leaking. the pictures that are taken under the car are of the exhaust which runs far right of the passenger side.

Check the fluid level in your tranny. If it appears that the oil is getting slung in a line across the body, then it's most likely the rear seal of the tranny where the driveshaft inserts.
