My 79 rx7 leaks oil or what looks like oil and smells like gasoline out of the tail pipe. I am going to change the oil and drain the gas tank because the car has been setting for 6 years. Another problem that I have is that the car won't idle unless you keep your foot on the excellerator. I think that if I addjust the excellerator cable that will fix the idle problem.

 

if the car has sat for that long,,you may need to clean the insides of
the carb.don't forget to get a new fuel filter too

 

For gush sakes, clean the carb, it is not good for them to sit that long. Sooner or later some gas sediment will dislodge and plug up venturis and other passages.

 

I just finished rebuilding the carb. I replaced every thing that came in the rebuild kit. What else could it be?
