Oil Hose??

This is for you 12a buffs in here. I went to town today and discovered my 85 had a major oil leak. Before deciding to go the pit for her final farewell, I decided to take it to my mechanic just to see....GOOD IDEA!! Come to find out it's just a hose that goes from the front of the engine( possible the oil pump?)to the back of the engine.(possibly a cooling system?) My question to you is...what is that hose called so I can order a new one. Thanks guys and gals.

Check this link out:

Find the hose in the manual, then you'll have a mazda part number that you can order with.

That is a 'hardline' from the front to the rear. it's for oil.
you can , in most cases find one at a junkyard for cheap.
you DO need it though.

I got a running engine out of a bone yard that had it replaced with a flexible line. It was on an 83 with the behive oil cooler. You may want to look into having one made with the fittings on the end of it. I don't know if it would be cheaper or not. Apparently it works it you have the right type of hose. The engine was running fine when pulled.
