oil coolers

hi all. i got a little bored, so i pulled out a 85 gs out of the weeds, im going to put a 81 engine in it,, so i am trying to decide to use the 81 type cooler or usethe 85 cooler that uses the water to cool the oil?? what do you all think the one i should use..wich one keeps the oil cooler????

81 all the way! The water coolers are terrible.

Do you have the 81 radiator or are you going to make some brackets to hold the cooler?

The 84-85's can use the GSL-SE oil coolers, I have one on my 85. It bolts right in. It's a much better solution than the 81 oil coolers.

well i do have the 81 and 85 radiators... yea maybee the 81 is the way to go!! thats what i was thinking also!

so then u can upgrade that p.o.s water oil cooler???
ive been wanting to know cuase i have an oil leak from the line thats starting to get to me
