Thumbs up oil cooler ?

no this isnt one of those will this oil cooler fit questions . i was changing my oil and replacing my front struts and adding ss brake lines that i just got in im excited to see results! but when i un screwed the oil cooler plug so it could drain i noticed what looks like a thermostat of some sort ??? i dont know how this goes back in or if it is even necessary? if it is necessary could you let me know how it goes in. thanks

It's an oil bypass valve, and it is better in than out, can't you just put it back in the way it came out.

oil cooler

i don't know how it fell out, it fell into the oil catch can. i don't know which way it goes in or out, it looks like it could go either way, i would look in my haynes manual, but it doesn't say anything... please help

Sorry Brandon, its been a while since I have seen one but if memory serves me one end is pointier than the other, it is the pointier end that points up into the cooler.
