Ohhh ny next creation! Look inside... :D

Well I was debating weather or not to share this, but the pics don't show much any ways. Basicaly I really cleaned up the port a lot! If you've ever seen a stock GSL-SE intake mani fold you know how grose the 5th and 6th port runner looks. Its not even smooth. Prolly one of the worst stock intake designs I've seen. There are some serious obstructions in the runner. I really cleaned out the runner. I didn't change the end of the port that way the lip still exists helping prevent reversion, but the air path is a lot cleaner! I can't wait to put this in my car! Right now I don't run sleves, but the pins/dowell rods are still in the intake manifold. Those thinge block so much air flow! It's gross really, I still can't figure outwhy anyone would still want to keep those things in. And don't say torque cause my car will still pull its self up a hill at idle. I cleanedup the primaries just enough, and really made the secondaries beautiful for that special part of the powerband I love so much!. So with out further adue...

looks sweet ese! but dont u need rough intake entry to help in furthur atomization of fuel?

isn't fuel in the SE injected in the intermediate plate? not in the manifold itself? no need to worry about rough ports cause u won't atomize anything

The real restriction in the manifold is the air flow meter. It is a whopping 4 sq. in. in size not including the spring loaded trap door that blocks the airflow. That is smaller than the intake runners total area therefore the runners are not your problem. I have an SE btw.

Careful how much you take off!

Makeing the runners too big will slow down the velocity of the incomeing air charge, which is not a good thing, really better off getting somebody to bench flow them once or twice while you grind on them so as not to remove to much.

id be real curious to know what kind of gains you'd get from that. what kind of manifold are you using?

thats the stock gsl-se bottom with a Racing Beat top and a Weber 45DCOE Last dyno I made 138-140 hp all the way from 5800- 6500 rpm where it peaked at 140 then started dropping. I'm only hoping this gets me about another 5 whp and moves the power band up another 500 rpm. If I acheive that its well worth the $20 for the manifold and $30 for the dremmel.

measures airflow into the engine. Thats why mine is gone and a weber is in its place.

Nice job. I'm spoiled with my 20B's lower manifold. It's nice and big where it mates to the upper manifold. I'm curious what your new dyno numbers will be.

nope I finally just put it on the car today! I tell you what! It's friggin awesome! It feels smoother faster and pulls up hills faster at part and full throttle. No money for a dyno right now, but Battle of the Imports is comming in 3 weeks and if the engine is still running I'll get some times. But seriously this thing is much smother throught the rpms now and the but dyno definatly says it's faster! More to come...

Good work. I port matched and polished my SE intake manifolds also a few years ago with good results.

A tad more responsive and smoother running all around, especially noticable while cruising at low speeds.

Too bad my overheated engine doesnt make the power it used to.
My S5 intakes are coming along nicely though.
