Off-the-shelf exhaust for T-II/1st gen?

This is a long-shot question: I have an S4 T-II motor in a 1st gen chassis. Is there any off-the-shelf 3" exhaust that would fit?

Not really. You can use aftermarket piping from the turbo to the wye pipe, then you'll need a custom made 3" set up on back. You could buy a full 3" 2nd gen TII single exhaust, but it will need to be modified to go over the solid axle. Either way it will take a bit of modding and tweaking.

Many of the TII 3" exhaust systems don't come with a pre-silencer, you'll need one. Best recommendation is a Borla XR-1. Made a huge difference on a friend's Corksport 3-1/8" single outlet system. Very good setup, all stainless, just way too loud w/o the Borla. System is pricey, but will outlast the body. Find a good installer that can fab up the over axle piece from 3" mandrel bent SS sections and you'll be set.

Thanks. I was afraid that's what I would hear.

I see someone dissed the galvanized pipe that I used over at the Turbofb forum. While welding does produce toxic zinc oxide vapors, the damn thing will take forever to rust out, lol. Funny thing is, the piping was free due to a recall on one model of the Ford turbo diesels. My exhaust pipe used to be intercooler piping off of that model. Pipe is as heavy a gauge as many stock exhaust pipeing and it's all mandrel bent.

Are you running a stock turbo? If so I would reccomend getting a 3" aftermarket DP and taking it to a local exhaust shop for the rest.

What Z said is correct. Just but a Racing Beat 3" down pipe and have the rest done custom.

Thanks to all who replied. I guess I'm off to the custom shop.
