oem rear shock?

I tried searching but nothing came up, so just a general first gen knowledge question.

do all first gens have "tokico" rear shocks oem?

a buddy of mine took his off a while back and they read "tokico system of Dr. D' Carbon" he said he asked around but no one really knew what that was about. and when i replaced mine, same thing...just wondering if this was a dealer option, special additon or what. the only thing i could find on google, is that some nissans had the same brand, but no one else knew more about them either.

Tokico was the factory damper supplier when these cars were built. You'd be surprised how many aftermarket performance part supplies also supply OEM parts.

When I went to Rotary performance in Garland Texas I remember him telling me my 79 has Tokicos, but later Mazda signed a contract with another company to supply shocks for their cars.
