odometer for 79
i have a 79 that has a new speedometer cable and mileage gauge is working, and the mph gauge is counting the miles but is jumping all over the place, what could it be

I had the same problem.
It was my speedo.... I swapped it for another one and no longer have that problem....
I'm not sure how to fix it 'cause I never took the time to pull the speedo apart.
