Odd RB exhaust fitment...

Got the full system (header, resonator, muffler), and only reusing the stock connecting pipe. Somehow after everything is bolted together, it doesn't seem to line up with any of the hangers very well, and is kind of pulled forward too much, and also to the right. Even after readjustment. And I can't connect the hanger over the rear axle, because it doesn't even reach. Anyone had fitment issues like that? Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I don't quite see a way to move it around to compensate.

Post up a few pics so I can see exactly what you're describing. My RB exhaust went in pretty smooth, just had to give it a little tug here and there.

I'd hang the back first then bolt it to header, then get the middle hung

Yeah, I did that today and managed to get the hangers hooked up, but the thing is still kind of lopsided, and it's twisting and stretching the hangers a bit. It clears everything, but not in a neatly perfect way the stock exhaust did. And the tips are off to the right and really close to the body, maybe 1/4" of clearance or so. It doesn't bang against anything, but still looks rather half-assed.

Hard to say where exactly the system takes the wrong turn, but it seems at the header. If I unhook the header, everything lines up fairly alright, but once the header flange nuts are tightened, it pulls the whole thing forward and to the right...

I'll see if I can take pics later. Maybe this deviation is normal and acceptable.

You should be fine as long as it clears every thing. My stock exhaust is half *** hung. It doesn't hurt anything. I'm content.

I have never installed a complete RB single pipe kit, but the double street port systems I've installed have fit perfectly. I always hang the entire exhaust with the flange bolts and hanger bolts hand tight. After everything is in place I tighten the flange bolts, then the hangers.

Are these new parts from RB?

Yes, they are. I'll leave it alone for now. I'll be getting a different mid section later, when I have a ported motor, so I guess it doesn't really matter right now.

I had problems with my tips hitting the rear valance, i shoved an old muffler hanger between the metal tab on the muffler thats above the tips and the original rub plate on the frame. It stayed in just fine and i never had an issue. I'll be running the streetport one as well when i motor is complete.

I had to remove my heat shielding to get my SP system in place. Maybe when you tighten your header flange bolts you're hitting the heat shielding and that causes the odd location of the exhaust?
