O rings for 83 rx 7
O rings for 83 rx 7 ? help!
Mazdatrix sent me O rings for my 83 rx7 oil cooler
the ones I took off were 4 in total 2 hard plastic ones in which one cracked and 2 rubber ones. My question is they sent me 4 rubber O rings is that right? or should they of sent me 2 hard plastic ones and 2 rubber ones?

I think the hard plastic one might have been rubber at one time. Rubber O rings harden up into something that looks like plastic over time.
Is that possible? I have never seen a plastic o Ring before. I seen flat plastic sealing rings.

All 4 were orginally o-rings.
Personally I would do a GSL-SE oil cooler swap. The weak 12a 83-85 oil cooler is the major contributor to dowel pin oil leaks. Second of course is not changing your oil regularly.
Or do the '79-82 oil cooler radiator swap either one is much better way to keep your oil temperature lower.
